It’s that Time of Year Again!

Halloween has passed us by, and the weather is starting to get colder and colder. I don’t know about you, but it makes me wonder whether we’re still in fall or if winter has crept on to the scene! Nevertheless, you can bet that I’m ready for Christmas!!

The holidays are such a fun, warm, and fuzzy time with friends, family, and lots of good food! However, I think many times, we get carried away with what is really important in this season. At Christmas, our hearts should be filled with love, gratitude, and joy. While many of us have the privilege spending it in-person with our loved ones, others are under different circumstances. Still, sometimes, all that is needed to warm another’s heart is a kind message from a friend. That’s why I started this card business - so that people can have the opportunity to communicate in the old-fashioned way using quality-made, creatively-imagined templates!

My Story

Hello, friends! My name is Laighton Nesland, and I am the owner and operator of the online store and super-small business Doodleoo Cards!

My goal for this little shop is to provide inexpensive but sentimental cards for any and every occasion. This includes birthday cards, cards to celebrate an upcoming holiday, and even simple greeting cards for simple "Hello"s!

My story goes back to the early days of my life, when recess was still a part of my daily routine. I've always been interested in writing, cursive, and calligraphy. In elementary school, I would spend summer days sitting in my bedroom and formulating new stories in my sparkly notebook. Many years later (during the COVID Quarantine), I took advantage of the extra time I had and picked up calligraphy by experimenting with a starter's kit my aunt had gotten me that Christmas. Since then, I've tried my hardest to keep growing and improving. During online school, I would sell my cards and creations to my friends and family. Now, whenever there is a birthday, people can expect a handmade card buried in their gift bag.

Making these cards is one of my passions and sources of joy, especially when I get to put a smile on somebody else's face. Since it has been so much fun sharing special moments with the people around me, I thought I'd expand on my original idea and extend the opportunity for others in my community to partake in.
